The garage sale is less than a week away. I have everything hauled to the garage, but the items aren’t tagged yet. I suppose I should get at that. It won’t happen by itself. Many of the things out there I simply want gone and they will be priced accordingly. Right now, the weather is showing partly cloudy for next Saturday. I hope it holds. I’m listening to thunder as I write this.

I’ve been painting baseboard. That job certainly gets old. My next project is looking through my mother’s five recipe boxes. I’m sure one came from her mother, but the others make me wonder. Are there different recipes in all of those boxes? It will be interesting to find out.

Well, I did look through all those recipe boxes and the recipes are different in each one. I think she collected them, but she certainly never made them all. I can’t imagine my mother eating shrimp butter (it’s for spreading on crackers). Like I said, I think it was another collection kind of thing she had going on. Most of them aren’t really healthy recipes, so I won’t be using them.

Gold finches have been here for a couple of weeks. I love watching them make use of the finch feeder. My resident squirrels are done squabbling and chasing each other, so I imagine the nest is about ready for babies. Spring has sprung and I suppose the heat of summer is just around the corner. I’m not even going to think about that. I did get out and get in my first long walk since injuring my foot last winter. Boy did that feel good. Healing happens a lot slower at this age. Time to get my bike out too, which reminds me, my granddaughter needs a new bike. Those grandkids just keep growing!
