There was Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen… Ah the music of the holidays. We hear the songs year after year, and yet, they are still so special. They also signal the shortest days of the year (ugh), the end of the year (sad), and the last blogs of 2018. Bookkeeping! Yikes! A new round of birthdays. And still – I have not found my dad’s secret stash of No-Grow to put on my grandkids and keep them little and precious. I begged him not to put it on me (big mistake) but I was sure it existed somewhere in my parent’s garage.

So, I think I am headed to the kitchen to start baking after I put in my writing time. I haven’t done it in such a long time. After all the junk food we ate in our fifteen hours of driving to get to and back from my grandson’s birthday celebration, and cake and pizza while there, you’d think more goodies is the last thing I would want. Somehow, though, it seems like the fitting send-off to 2018. My sister would have loved it if I had made her some too.

I’ve been exploring the concept of tiny houses. I think they are really cool. I hope to tour a nearby manufacturer in January. Oh January. There is so much on your calendar already.

So what’s up for your holiday plans? Are you traveling? Are you cooking? Have you finished shopping yet? We do put ourselves under a bit of stress this time of year, don’t we? Maybe that is how we counteract the cold, dark days.

I hate to admit it, but I am looking forward to the organization/clean-up/clean-out that is going to happen when I put the Christmas decorations away. I have a pretty good plan in mind for re-doing the basement store room. Crazy huh? All it takes is a lot of eggnog people!
