For everyone about to fly ‘somewhere’ for a vacation this summer, please pack your patience in your carryon baggage. Don’t think for a minute that you can leave it at home. The right mind set about airport terminals will go a long way in not spoiling your adventure. If you don’t like standing in line, you might consider driving. Just saying.
A little more progress in the downstairs remodel: the backsplash is up and I love this second one. I hung the glass holders and they look pretty snazzy. Bit by bit. Since our summer plans have changed, the remaining few items can happen when they happen.
In a week and a half my grandsons (and their parents) will head this way. Whoop! Whoop! I have a hard time grasping the fact that I won’t be returning to their house in Florida next winter. I have been going there for six years and I am going to miss that. My grandson and his mommy are having a hard time too. They’re leaving really good friends and the only home he’s known. Not easy to do, even with all the new adventures ahead of them. Six year olds adjust quickly, but it’s never easy to see them sad.
I haven’t picked out a new national park to go to this year. With all the transitions happening for my kids, sitting down and figuring it out has been pretty low priority. There are many good choices. Good choices in itself is a wonderful blessing, one that I don’t take for granted. Happy summer everyone!
