I haven’t done this for quite some time. I went to a loud, raucous concert in the Pepsi Center in Denver with five other ladies, and I have to say, I had a great time! The music was good, though very loud indeed, the light show and theatrics were good, but I have to say, it was the crazies in the stand that made it worth going.
When the mary-jane was lit, I was slightly taken back. I know I live in Colorado. I also know it’s illegal in an indoor-public place. Go figure. Being the hermit that I am, my first exposure to pot in a public place since I was a teenager (remember that was a long, long time ago) kind of took me back for a minute. The row in front of us was completely oblivious to our row. They lit up e-cigarettes (that was more obnoxious than the weed) and constantly had their hands in the air. Man did they love the music.
Then I noticed how much the mother and daughter right in front of me (I’m guessing the girl was about ten) were enjoying each other as much as the concert. They held hands, danced unison steps (as much as possible in a skinny row), smiled, high-fived, and had a great time together. How really awesome it was to see a parent and a child enjoying themselves – doing something together.
As for the rest of the crazies: the pot smoker slumped lower and lower in her chair and eventually fell asleep – quite a feat with that much noise; the drinkers got rowdier and rowdier; we weren’t sure if the lady thirty feet to our right took off and her pants and was dancing in the aisle in her underwear, but whatever, the “under-awareness” commercials on TV seem to be advocating everyone go around in public in their underwear; the guy behind me on my right side spilled his drink on me; the gal behind me on my left dropped her cell phone on me. Yup – all in all, I had a great time!
