I started to write a blog about a particular adult’s bad behavior and ended up hitting the delete button after re-reading it. I was venting and being judgmental. The venting part is good for me, (that’s how I process). By writing it down, I got it off my chest and now I can move on. Here’s the catch. Posting it on a public forum would put me in the same category of bad behavior as the person I am upset with. I believe there are extraordinary people who can reach down to lift someone up, and not lower themselves, but they are few and far between. Most of us fall down into the muck right along with those we think need help. Helping without being judgmental is a tricky balancing act and I greatly admire those who do it well. You are blessed and so needed.
Today’s weather was supposed to be beautiful but so far, the clouds and stiff wind have prevented that description from being used around here. I would put it in the nasty category myself, but maybe it will settle down after a while. Right now, pine needles are dropping like snowflakes in this wind. A pine tree looses approximately one third of its needles each year but a person doesn’t normally see them all come down at once.
There has been a wonderful turnout at the Black Forest Craft Fair. I believe a lot of people have come as a show of support for the fire victims and it is really appreciated. Eleven of our guild members lost their homes this past summer in the fire. That is a tenth of our membership. Thanks to all who came out and I hope you went home with wonderful goodies and some of your holiday shopping in the bag. I am always amazed at the wonderful, new items that our creative members bring each year. Besides all of the hard work putting on two sales per year, our guild gives out a yearly college scholarship to a local student and participates in the local food bank. Thanks again for your support. Happy November!
