Becoming My Father

Well, it has happened. I sit watching the news and the moment a commercial comes on – I zap the mute button. Politics has done this to me – turned me into my father. I simply cannot stand listening to the awful commercials. Either something said is taken out of context or they out-right lie. My dad, of course, muted ALL commercials. I tend to wait because there are still some funny ones out there. I love Liberty Mutual’s recent commercials. Ahh, too bad, nobody clever and witty and HONEST works for political campaigns.

I came to a great big conclusion the other day. I don’t like marketing myself – at all. So, I have gone back to writing for me, loving my grandkids, gardening, hiking, and not worrying about selling books. They can do that by themselves – well not really – but worrying about it doesn’t help. I would certainly never get hired to market a politician!

Have a wonderful weekend, take a breath and think before you speak, and most of all – treasure your family.
