Happy 4th of July!

A lot happened yesterday. Andy Griffith died. He was a good influence in my generation’s lives as we grew up. It RAINED! Such a blessing. There is a good chance for more rain in the coming days too. The Waldo Canyon fire is almost totally contained thanks to heroic efforts by many good people. The air smells so good. My grandson and I picked up his mom from the airport and he was a wired up bundle of excitement all evening long. We’ll have most of the family together for a few days so he will have his cousin to play with and run that energy off, thank goodness. Happy 4th of July to everyone! Safe travels too.

As you move past loss and your grief and new people come into your life, remember that love is infinite. Just as we have no problem loving our first child when a second comes along, so too can you love someone new without your love for the one you lost diminishing. It isn’t the time for feeling guilty, it is the time to be grateful that you have been blessed. Good people come into our lives for a reason. We need them or perhaps they need us and the good things we can bring to their lives. The greatest gift life has to offer is our relationships and the joy we can share with others. Embrace your life. Be thankful. Learn. Live.
