Bugs, grandkids & summer

Okay, so here is my laundry list of summer thoughts on the last day of May.

We need rain. The deer are emptying the bird bath water every night.

Ants. My daughter-in-law has been battling them and now they are coming for my kitchen.

My grandson comes today! ! !

Once again I must apologize to the squirrels. Yesterday, I found a fully-grown grasshopper in the garden, munching away on the cabbage plants. Arghh! Of course, they can go right through the anti-squirrel boxes I built to protect the seedlings.

Weakness. I stopped at a favorite wild bird store, intent on purchasing a replacement part for my hummingbird feeder. Did you know they have beautiful feeders out now in many gorgeous colors? I did get my part, and a bottle brush cleaner, and two new feeders. Oh well. Have a great summer.
